Hello ,

Roshmi & I are continuously researching various natural and healthy
products that would both interest and benefit you. We have selected
a few exciting new products, some of which we shall introduce to you
in this issue.

Now, on to another issue, Roshmi and I both love dogs, as do most
folks. I have grown up with dogs, mostly Alsations. Alsations (German
Shepherds) are large dogs, and are often used as police dogs and
guard dogs. I have never been bitten or attacked by my dogs, even
when I clumsily tripped over them as a child.

In the province of Ontario, Canada, new legislation is being passed
to ban Pit Bull terriers. Current owners must keep them leashed and
muzzled in public. No new Pit Bull terriers may be bred and sold.
This new legislation is the result of numerous recent maulings,
resulting in disfigurement, and even death, of the victims, both human
and animal.

The legislation has led to a heated debate, with some in support of and
others against. Many blame the owners for training the Pit Bulls to
be attack dogs, or for ill-treating them. Others argue that Pit Bulls
are naturally vicious, having been bred to fight and kill, and that
their instinct is to attack. A problem is that they are so strong,
that many grown men find it difficult to restrain them, even with a
choke-collar. Toronto police recently needed sixteen bullets to put
down two attacking Pit Bulls!

We are dog lovers and are torn between both sides. How would you
vote on the issue?

Before reading the rest of the newsletter, please try this simple
antidote for tired, strained, "computer-gazing" eyes:
Rub your palms together briskly, then place each palm over an eye
to the count of twenty. Your eyes should be closed.

The energy from your palms will rejuvenate and soothe your eyes.
Do this every half-hour when working on the computer, you'll love

FEATURE ARTICLE: THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF SEX

Quick quiz: Would you rather run 75 miles or have sex three
times per week for a year? Research shows that both activities
burn the same number of calories. (7,500, to be exact.)

We often think that something that feels good can't
possibly be good for us. Now it's time to think again.

Sex in a loving, intimate relationship has numerous health
benefits. In women, for example, the sexual act triggers
the release of oxytocin. Oxytocin promotes feelings of
affection and triggers that nurturing instinct. In men,
sex encourages the flow of testosterone, which strengthens
bones and muscles and helps transport DHEA, a hormone that
may be important in the function of the body's immune system.

Paul Pearsall, Ph.D., author of Superimmunity, also maintains
that sex in a loving relationship helps the immune system
by increasing the flow of certain chemicals in the body.

Hugh O'Neill, editor of Men's Health magazine, recently
listed some health benefits of sex, as well. Regular sex
is regular exercise and has similar benefits, including
improved cholesterol levels and increased circulation.
Men's Health also reported that men who have sex at least
three times each week may have a decreased risk of
developing prostate problems.

Sex, like exercise, releases endorphins. Endorphins contribute
to the runner's high and diminishes pain levels.

An active sex life may help us live longer, too. Dr. David Weeks,
a clinical neuropsychologist at Scotland's Royal Edinburgh
Hospital, conducted a study of 3,500 people ranging in age from 18
to 102. Weeks concluded that sex actually slows the aging process.

Sexual therapists remind us that frequent sex is a form of
exercise. And feeling secure in a relationship leads to feeling
happier, which could lead to greater health--and a younger look.

In fact, these studies indicate that intimacy plays a key role in
the health benefits of sex. A promiscuous sexual relationship may
actually produce an opposite effect by introducing a sense of
anxiety and fear.

In spite of all these health benefits and the sheer pleasure of
the act, Americans may still need a boost. At least one-third of
American couples report "inhibited sexual desire," according to
The Masters and Johnson Institute.

Sex therapists say sex acts on the principal of "use it or lose
it." So, for your heart, mind, and soul, the best advice may be
to "Just do it!"

it was in 1750, and inevitable and cataclysmic effects are expected

PRODUCT REVIEW: GLUCOSAMINE FOR ARTHRITIS

HOW TO STAY BALANCED IN STRESSFUL SITUATIONS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


Often we start to notice ourselves falling into anger,
depression, self-pity or other responses to a work or home
situation. Here are a few ideas to implement in a situation
where a knee-jerk reaction starts to arise. Remember it is much
easier to nip something in the bud than to deal with stress after
it flowers into physical symptoms or a bad mood. If you get into
a funk sometimes it can last for days and it's often hard to break
free of it. When you can "catch" the negative moment beginning you
have a great shot at stopping it from taking you down.

I've found these helpful for myself as well as my clients for
'Breaking out of moods':

1) If you feel a certain "mood" beginning (i.e. depression, anger,
discouragement) try to do something physical such as go running,
swim, or even clean. It's good to do something that will tune up
your nervous and glandular system. We need to break the incarnations
that set into our bodies. It is similar to stopping smoking after
one cigarette rather than 20 years of smoking. Sometimes if you have
a shoe and it is worn out on one side you'll see that if you put your
foot in it, it leans in that direction. The mind follows the grooves
it previously was tracing out. We have the power to "change the
channel" and watch a different movie.

2) There are two breathing exercises from yoga that are very helpful
to cultivate a neutral mind. One is called "Alternate nostril
breathing" and the other is called "Breath of Fire". These are
explained in detail in the booklet I wrote. You can also learn these

3) Identify and write down the mental tape loops that you finding
yourself repeating. By knowing what these are you can watch it
instead of take it as your own identity. The more you "see" the
dramas the less you react from within them. We all fall into our
own melodramas and soap operas and taking a bird's eye view can
give us another perspective. It helps us to not "buy into" our own
story. Our inner story is something we repeat to ourselves and
others and gives us our identity. It's good to step back and see
which parts of it are beneficial and which are messages from the
past, other people or our old identities. Just as a computer needs
to have files deleted in order to operate more efficiently, so our
minds need to have the extra "files" emptied out so we have room
for new stories, dreams and aspirations.

4) Keep a notebook of inspiring anectdotes, quotes and tips.
This helps to boost one's spirit and also to feel connected with
others that have dealt with similar feelings. Put some reminders
on your refrigerator, desk at work, car dash board and other places
so you can catch your mind and re-direct it in a positive direction.

5) Inspirational Samples If you are distressed by anything external,
the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of
it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
